Ever wonder if you have a third eye that you can actually use to oversee things? Well EMC test is one of them. Manufacturing industries especially in the electrical and electronic sectors, and now including (the even more critical) electric vehicle manufacturing, can use EMC tests as a way to ensure their product quality. Each product has a ‘signature’ emission and not easily reproducible by other products from other lines. These signatures are so sensitive that they will change with the slightest incompliance in manufacturing techniques, a.k.a. installation defects, human errors, wrong components, and etc. EMC test results can provide insight into how a product is assembled correctly either according to the predefined guidelines, or there is simply an unhappy worker down the production line who isn’t bothered to work diligently. On the other hand, the EMC test is a watchdog for the component replacement program due to EOL. Component suppliers are unlikely to tell you everything, but now you know you have a third eye.
